Ingredients

Marination

  • 1 Medium Bitter gourd/karela/Pavakkai
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp Gram flour

Frying Marinated bitter gourd

  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Red chili powder
  • Chat masala
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Wash the bitter gourd and cut it into slices
  • Marinate the slices with 1/2 tsp red chili, 1/4 tsp pepper powder, 1 tbsp curd, 1 tbsp rice flour, 1 tbsp gram flour, and 1/4 tsp salt and leave it for an hour
  • Heat the pan and add 2 tbsp of oil
  • Now add the marinated slices in batches and shallow fry in medium flame
  • Flip the slices and cook both the sides until it turns golden brown.(be careful not to burn the slices)
  • Once its fried completely, sprinkle some salt, red chili, and chat masala. Mix well and saute in low flame for a couple of seconds.
  • Then switch off the flame and cover the pan with a plate. Shake it well so that the masala is mixed completely.
  • Remove from the pan and serve it with any main dish
