  • Steamer


For Dough

  • 2 Cup Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Water(As required)

Filling for momos

  • 3 Medium Potatoes
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 1 Small Green chilli
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes


Making Dough

  • Knead 2 cups of wheat flour using some water and make a dough.
  • Make the dough smooth and supple.
  • Next, cover it with a damp cloth for 20 minutes or until filling is prepared.
  • After sometime divide the dough into large portions.
  • Roll dough ball into a thin circle.
  • Then using a round mold make small circles.
  • do the same for the rest of the dough and place the dough sheets it in a plate and cover it with a cloth

Filling for momos

  • Boil 3 medium-sized potatoes until tender.
  • Then peel and mash potatoes roughly.
  • Next, add chopped 1 Small Onion, 1 Small Green chilli. Along with it add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp Black pepper, 1/2 tsp Red chilli, 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes to the roughly mashed potatoes.
  • Mix them all well to make momos filling

Making wheat momos

  • Take one prepared wheat dough sheet and place a small ball of filling in the middle of the sheet
  • Next, lift one side of the edge and start pleating or take one side of the sheet and join the edges using a fork.
  • Prepare all momos this way and keep them covered under a moist napkin until you are ready to steam them.
  • Next, grease a steamer pan with some oil.
  • Arrange them in the pan, keeping space between them.
  • Steam using 2 cups of water in a steamer pan or idli pan
  •  Cover and steam for 5 to 6 minutes till the outer dough becomes transparent.
  •  Serve wheat veg momos hot with momos chutney or red chilli-garlic chutney, spicy schezwan sauce or tomato sauce.
