  • Pan/Kadai


  • 3 Tsp Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida/Hing
  • 3 Green chilli
  • 1 Large Raw mango
  • 1 Tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/8 Cup Jaggery


  • Warm up 3 tsp of oil in a kadai /pan and add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and wait for it to splutter.
  • Next, add 1 tsp cumin and saute for a few seconds until it becomes crisp.
  • Now add 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida/Hing to it and give it a good mix and then add 3 large green chilli roughly chopped. Mix well.
  • Add vertically sliced raw mango and mix well. cook for a few seconds before adding masalas.
  • Next, add 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. Mix well and cook again for a few seconds so that masalas are coated well.
  • Now add a cup of and mix it well with the mixture. Close and cook until the raw mango softens.
  • Finally,add 1/8 cup jaggery and give it a good mix before cooking it to a thick paste like consistency.
  • Once the sauce thickens, switch off the flame and serve it hot or cool it down before having it as sides.
