Chicken marination for popcorn chicken
- 200 Grams Chicken Cut into small cubes
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp Paprika powder
- 1/4 Cup Milk
Flour for coating the chicken
- 1/2 Cup All purpose flour
- 1/4 Cup Corn flour
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Water
- Oil For deep frying
Step 1: Popcorn chicken marination
In a bowl add 1 tsp Red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Garlic powder, 1 tbsp Vinegar, 1/2 tsp Dark soy sauce, 1 tsp Paprika powder, and 1/4 Cup Milk.Mix it all well and then add a chicken pieces(cut them into small cubes) to it and marinate it for 2 hours in the refrigirator.
Step 2: Flour for coating the chicken
For coating the chicken prepare the flour by mixing 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup corn flour, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Whisk it well so that all the ingredients are mixed properly
Step 3: Coating the chicken with flour
Next, place a bowl of, flour mixture, and marinated chicken next to eact other. Do the following steps
- Coat the marinated chicken with flour
- Then dip it in the water for one quick moment
- Then again coat it with flour.
Follow these steps for all the chicken pieces to get that rocky texture to the chicken
Step 4:
Heat the oil on high flame and slide the coated chicken pieces into the oil.
Now bring the flame to medium and deep-fry the coated chicken pieces in batches until golden brown.
Note: once you slide the chicken into the oil, do not disturb it for a few seconds(this helps the flour to stay in place). And then keep stirring until it is cooked.
Once deep-fried, remove it from the oil and place it in a paper towel to remove excess oil.
